what is the best way to clean vertical blinds?

I have just decorated and the blinds look like they need a good clean. Will they be ok if i wash them in the bath with cool water? Really don't want to shrink them! please help. Cannot contact where they were bought from coz i don't know.

2. Put them in the washing machine on a cool wash then iron them.

4. My dad's a owns blind company so i know quite abit about blinds. you need to contact the place where you get them from and see if they are washable. if they are put them inside a pillowcase and put on a cool wash in your washing machine with little spin.
5. Clip them off, lay them in a bucket of cold soapy water and leave to soak over night, next day give them i quick scrub and hang out till they dry, we had to do it with every blind in our new house as when we moved in they were all mouldy and now there bright white again :)
