Window Covering

Remember my question regarding cleaning vertical blinds?

To all of the "intelligent" responses I received--I do have drapes as well. The vertical blinds are in my family room and my curtains do not cover the windows. I have vertical blinds rather than shades. Any other suggestions?

  1. i would take one of those tape lint brushes and wrap a rag around it and roll it up and down the vertical blind this should clean it for u there also great for getting pet hair off of everything
  2. No, sorry, don't remember
  3. I did not answer your previous question but I have blinds, as well as two dogs, a cat and two smokers in the house so they can get FILTHY. Here's what I do: Once a week: I use a Swiffer type dusting glove. I run my fingers over the blinds to get up the dust. Once a month: I have an ove glove type pot holder (the ones with finger). I wet it down with water and run my finger over the blinds. For tough spots, I'll use a little dish detergent. Hope that helps!
  4. I don't have vertical blinds, but my daughter does. She vacuums hers. She has cleaned them in the bathtub using mild dish washing liquid and rinsed them well. Here are sites that may help you. Best of luck with it.
  5. I didn't see your first question, but for my white vinyl vertical blinds, which are the wider ones, each panel being about 4 inches wide...... I just get 2 sponges, a bucket of water with Mr Clean (because I like the smell) and put one sponge in each hand, start at the top of each panel and run the 2 soapy sponges together down each side. One sponge on each side, in case I wasn't clear? It's the fastest and easiest way for me.
