how to add curtains to vertical blinds?

I have a color pallet of beiges & reds in my room. My wall color is a medium shade of beige. I added white vertical blinds to the deck doors that doesn't blend in with the rest of the room. I thought of placing curtains,sheers,or a long scarf to soften them. My question is, how to add any of these with the blinds.

1. You have to get a curtain rod that comes out from the wall such that it hangs in front of the blinds.
2. Or you can actually paint the blinds. if they are plastic, you will need to strip them with alchohol but spray paint does it. Ive done it with one of the houses I was renting. You cant even tell they werent supposed to be that color and its a lot cheaper than buying all the junk youd have to cover them with. I painted them and added a valance..done deal. If the are cloth blinds it will take a bit more paint, but works just the same.
3. I would buy a couple of sheer red panels to match the red in your room and buy a decorative curtain rod to hang them on. That way you can push them to the sides or hang in the middle or cover all of the blinds with them.
