Window Covering

Any suggestions about what kind of window covering....?

I should use in a bathroom window?? It is a weird size (something like 60x64) and standard blinds/drapes won't fit. It is over my garden tub and it has crank handles to open the windows outward. I was just looking for something affordable that would give us some privacy!

  1. i would go with something like shares and keratin that looks pretty in window like that
  2. The perfect thing to do is buy window film. It adheres to the window and can be removed if you're tired of it or moving. Plus, there's nothing in the way to block light, but it creates instant privacy. Here's an example of some really pretty window film: http://www.2jane.com/searchresult.aspx?categoryID=35
  3. This might sound weird to you, but have you ever thought of inside shutters? Sounds like a window we had in kitchen at one time.Dad made inside shutters for it. They were doubled, like a bottom shutter, then a top shutter. Instead of wood in the middle, they had a very pretty yellow sheer material. I almost forgot that those were the top shutters. The bottom ones did have thin wood slats. Anyways, they looked real good, and I am still thinking on putting some in our bathroom. Or you could take it out all together ,and put in glass block. But you wanted simple and inexpensive... Hummm....They make obscure peel and stick stuff for windows. Just an Idea. Byee
  4. Make a roman shade for it.They are simple to make . Go to fabric store and get a fabric you like about an inch wider than you need it to be and 5 inches longer. While your there pick up the loop tape- you'll need three pieces the length of the window and you will need cording. If you take the window dimensions with you the fabric clerk can figure all the lengths for you. Put half inch hem on both sides and bottom. Next fold over top aprox 2.5 inches and stitch at 2 inches from top. Sew tape down each side of shade and in the middle (on wrong side of fabric), pull cording thru loops and knot together. Hang on standard curtain rod and enjoy.
  5. window film or window contact paper will look really cool! I like frosted and stained glass patterns from here: http://contactpaper.ecrater.com/category.php?cid=363576 It will give you a right amount of privacy and will make your bathroom look romantic...
