Home window tinting and window shutters ???
I have shutters on my windows right now but it always seems to be really hot in my house in the summer and really cold in the winter. Do you know if home window tint will help out more or are the shutters doing most of the work already and will tinting be a waste of money ???

- Tinting will not help- sorry. I have the same problem in my house, so this past winter I used plastic to cover it- it billowed all winter long, so I had to either use plastic again this year- or replace it- I replaced it. In the summer, try using an awning outside to keep the sun from getting in, and use a room darkening shade to keep the sun out. Another option is to have custom made magnetic windows that you can take off and put on as needed. I had them at my old house- worked great.
- Actually I am having my entire house tinted ( I mean the windows and glass doors). My reasons are the same as yours. According to the information I have found as well as profesional advise I have received, having windows tinted does make a huge difference. It regects the heat so in summer it would mean keep the house cooler and and in winter, keep the warmth from escaping. There are different rated tints available suitable for different things/outcomes therefore it is important to choose the correct one to meet your needs.
