How to refresh burgundy window shutters that are faded: paint or use renewal chemicals?
My window shutters are burgundy vinyl & are faded. The color permeates the shutters. There is a 2 step renewal product to refresh the color. I could also paint them. Also, someone told me that satin polyurethane varnish works. Is this possible? Which process gives the best result? Which process is easiest?

- use 100% acrylic paint either a semi-gloss or a low lustre
- First of all Varnish is mostly used indoor. So make sure it is an exterior type. Helmsman Polyurethane is exterior and can be bought at any Lowe's. However because it is vinyl I do not recommend using any type of polyurethane unless you sand it real good first. To avoid sanding which is a lot of hard work and time consuming. I suggest Duramax exterior paint from Lowe's. It is a paint that has a primer mixed with it and a UV protectant. It also has a life time warranty. If you get the Semi-Gloss you will not have to put any type of sealant over it. And because it already has a primer in it. you will not have to primer than paint.
