How to roll up roller blinds? I've been wondering these for years. I keep pulling it down and hopefully getting lucky that it some how goes up. But is there a trick like normal blinds with strings where you pull it on the side and it goes down? These blinds are pretty long and old, and I was going to try to pull them all the way back until there is none left and try pulling it to roll them up (I believe that's how it goes) So yeah How do you roll up roller blinds? Thank you :]

Looking for solar blind material to make roller blinds/shades.? I want to try and my my own roller blinds and the reason Im making them is because they want $300 to $400 to buy ready made. The window I want to make them for is 109 inches wide by 54 inches long. I am looking for the perforated material. Does anyone know of a site that sells this? Thanks!
Roller Blinds on sloping windows? I have fitted roller blinds to the front of my caravan, but the window has a slope away from the inside of the frame so that the blinds hang straight down, they do not actually cover the window there is a gap of about 6inches at the bottom.. I cannot figure out a way to hold them close to the glass. i have tried fixing them upside down, but that did not work. I cannot fasten anything across the width as there is also a curve on the front of the van. Any bright suggestions ? paticat Thanks for the velcro suggestion. I have already tried it and the heat on the front of the van dries the glue. The channelling idea sounds good, but where can I buy it. We have B & Q about 20 miles away, or can I get it online. Thanks. Thanks to everybody, I have purchased the channelling, and will do the job this weekend. I have also contacted AMO about having some custom made blinds.

Who repairs roller window blinds? We have 2 roller blinds that one wont stay down & the other just hangs & wont go up. We like the material etc that they are made of & would like the rollers replaced. We live in Etobicoke. Where can I go to have them replaced? We really like our blinds except they do not function.
Aluminum blinds, wood blinds, faux wood blinds, roller shades, or pleated shades? I just bought my first home, and I have no idea how to pick out window coverings. Every other home I've ever lived in had cheap aluminum blinds, and I really dislike them, but they are cheap. The types of window coverings listed in this question are the ones I like. What are the advantages/disadvantages? Are the worth the added cost over aluminum blinds? Does the type of blind/shade you get affect your choice of curtains? Thanks

Where is a good place to buy fabric roller shades/blinds? I'm looking for a place, perhaps online, that has great customer service, a great reputation, and quality products. We want something with "room darkening" for the children's rooms. And, we do not want to spend more than $100 each. JCPenney might be out - we went there last night and received horrible customer service.
cleaning roller blinds without a bath? the roller blinds in my flat are supposed to be white I think... they are currently yellowish with dirt stains I think the one near the kitchen sink has water stains it's the worst as far as I can see, landlord won't replace them as they still work but they look disgusting and I don't have a bath tub to soak them in any ideas?
Where can I buy metal cords for roller blinds? I don't want those ones with plastic bobbles I want metal ones. All of the roller blinds in Homebase have plastic bobbles on their cord pulls which look a bit cheap to me. Here is an example of the kits offered with plastic cords: http://www.merrick-day.com/acatalog/Rotary_Chain_Roller_Blind_Kits.html
Cleaning white roller blinds!!!? I'm getting new windows fitted tomorrow and have just taken down my white roller blinds in prep for the guys coming to do the work. Where can I buy roller blind fittings? I recently bought roller blinds and they came with the fittings to attach inside the window and I need some that attach to the wall from behind and let the blind fall down over the whole window. I can't drive, so can't get to B&Q etc, does anyone know if there's anywhere on the high street (i'm in central london) where I can buy something like this? Also, are these kind of fittings all the same universal size?? Thank you!
Roller window blind treatments for floor to ceiling windows? I am remodeling my house and installing a sunroom type conservatory in the back. It will have floor to ceiling windows that are low E, they block out the heat and laminate wood floors. This is so we can see our trees and flowers in the back yard, but this will also be the media and game room for the family with a fireplace, screen for projector tv and video games and a pool table that will double as a dining table. I would like to find a window treament that would be like bamboo roller blinds for all these large windows. I really want to be able to roll them all the way up all the time for the view asthetics and just be able to block all light with something like that when we want to use the projector or watch a movie. My fiance does electrical and wiring and cabling for a profession so he wants it high tech, but we want it in our budget. We are NOT rich and will be have been doing most of the work on this house ourselves to stay in a budget. Does any one have any sources for something like this? We do most things diy.
Has anyone fitted trim to fit roller blinds? I want to fit some roller blinds in my conservatory without spending a fortune. Each window pane is exactly 100cm but I can only find 90cm or 120cm blinds. The 120cm are trim to fit, but does this mean I can also adjust the length of the metal roller as well as trimming the fabric? As the blinds need to fit side by side it's no good having 120cm rollers even with the fabric trimmed to the right width, I would need 100cm rollers too. Hope this makes sense.
How do I cut a roller blind to fit a window? Have to cut a roller blind for my sons bedroom. Its the blackout style and last time I tried I cut it slightly ragged on edges and light was shining through the sides, ruined the whole point :-( Anyone know how I can do this easier and what tools I should use?
Where can I buy a roller blind which is over 7 foot? I've been looking for a roller blind for a window which is 234cm, but haven't seen any in the usual shops (in the UK), they usually only go up to 180cm. The only ones that I've seen have been from online shops. I only looked at a couple of sites, and the cheapest that I saw was about £50. I'm not sure if these will be pretty poor quality though. Can anyone recommend somewhere where I can buy a blind for a large window?
How can i turn normal window blinds into electric ones? i have roller blinds in my bedroom and they have a bead pull cord to pull them up and down. is there any way i could buy/make a little motor to make them electric. im not lazy i just think it will look cool. thankyou. peace.

Where, in Stockport or Manchester, can I buy privacy blinds for a door? My living room has glazed doors and this Christmas it will have to serve as a bedroom so I want to fit discrete blinds to the doors to give the occupant some privacy. I want the blinds to be as invisible as possible when closed (i.e. no flapping pull-cords). Alternatively blinds that are very easy to remove and don't leave a mess when you do so. I'm thinking that roller-blinds where you pull the bottom of the blind or concertina blinds would be good. I would also like them to be available in off-white fabric.
how do you operate a roller blind? 1.e can it be held up on its own or do u always have to hold it. i mean held up in a way as to see the windows clearly without the blinds obstructing you in anyway. i know how to pull it up but how do you make it stay up without you continuing to hold the strings
Question about fitting roller blinds...do you need to take the fixing down when you change them or just feed? through a new blind? I am wanting to swap the blinds in a rental property, but will it be difficult if I have to replace the old ones when I leave? I might be able to just leave the ones I put up there, but the landlord can insist on his ones being there. Will I be able to take down the fixing while I put mine in on a new fixing, and then replace the original one? Or can I just feed a new blind through the original fixing while it is up? Sorry if this sounds stupid..
Is it possible to lengthen the bead type pulley on a fabric roller blind? I am 5ft tall and have a new blind at my kitchen window which is at least 4ft high and I just can't reach the pulley. The window is above my sink so I have to lean across that to reach the pulley. I have never had this type of pulley on a blind before, it seems to be on a loop that just goes round and back again. Please help!
